15 Mar BIG thanks from Roots for support
Many of you will have heard about the Arson attack at Roots, just before Christmas.
Thanks to the huge response from friends and supporters, the project is now getting back on its feet. The new welfare unit has now been delivered and the other containers moved to create a better layout.
The support from the other plot holders- including Mario and Ron have been tremendous as well as help from members of the local community. A special mention for Denise Medley for her personal donations and the ‘Pop up Breakfasts’ she organised to raise funds. Thanks also to St Mary’s Church for their large contribution and all those individuals who contributed to the ‘Just Giving’ page and via other ways. Local AM Jayne Bryant was very supportive and the South Wales Argus was also very helpful by giving publicity about what happened. Many have supporters have also given practical donations of tools and equipment.
Roots@Bettws will be a stronger and better project with student numbers rising and increased external maintenance work on top of the plant growing on site. We look forward to a great year of growth on all fronts at sunny Bettws.
Lastly a big thank you to Ed Synan from Fieldway who went the extra mile to support the project.
