V21 Life Skills @ Fairwater

Our V21 Life Skills is a practical course that helps trainees learn the everyday skills they need to live more independently at home and in the community. Unlike our other projects, Life Skills offers a 12-month course tailored to each trainee, allowing them to focus on the aspects that matter most to them and build confidence.
Run by Christian, the project takes place across a make-shift home setting at our Sbectrwm Centre in Fairwater, Cardiff. Trainees take part in practical activities, meet new people, make friends, and learn skills they can use in real life.
It’s a relaxed, supportive space where trainees can learn at their own pace and try new things.

Trainees will develop a training plan to suit them and learn skills such as:
- Kitchen Hygiene / Preparing Drinks and Snacks / Preparing a Meal / Washing Up, Cleaning, Sweeping and Mopping
Caring for Myself
- Personal Care and Hygiene / Hair Care / Finger Nails / Laundry, ironing and making the bed
Shopping for Myself
- Using Money / Budgeting / Shopping Skills / Weekly Shopping
Keeping Myself Safe
- Independent Living Skills / Personal Safety / Travel Skills / Healthy Eating
When?
Trainees attend the V21 Life Skills @ Fairwater project from 9:00am – 3:00pm; Mondays and Tuesdays.
