Get Involved

I enjoyed my whole time here, meeting and getting to know the students and staff has been the most enjoyable. I feel more confident working with people with learning difficulties now and have had brilliant support throughout; it has been a fantastic placement.”

Volunteer.

Our V21 projects are run by a team of friendly staff who support and instruct our trainees in their chosen area but they could always do with extra hands.

We value the time and effort our volunteers invest with us and if you’d like to use your unique skills to support what we do, volunteering is a highly rewarding option.

Whatever your goal we’ll help you achieve it. You’ll have fantastic opportunities to meet people and make new friends whilst being a part of an inclusive and supportive organisation.

V21 Volunteer Benefits

Volunteer roles can be modified to suit you, from being involved in the ‘hands on’ vocational activity of the project or providing one to one support to our students or helping us behind the scenes in areas such as administration, marketing, fundraising and caretaking. There are opportunities to suit everyone!

Decide to volunteer with V21 and you’ll receive a number of benefits in return such as the opportunity to:

  • Being a part of a growing, exciting organisation, working with people who really care.
  • Build on existing knowledge.
  • Develop new skills and gain experience.
  • Enhance your CV and obtain references.
  • Give back to the community.
  • Make a difference in the lives of others.
  • Participate in something you enjoy.
  • Put your unique skills to good use.

Plus we’ll arrange payment of your out of pocket expenses – travel and meals

What can you do?

If you’re over 16 with plenty of enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to help people with a learning need, then we would love to hear from you!

No prior experience is necessary but due to the nature of our work, we require all volunteers to provide two character referees and undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (at no cost to you).

You’ll receive a full V21 induction, you’ll meet the staff and students, have a project tour and go through our policies and procedures.

There is no minimum commitment, you can volunteer for as many or as few hours as you wish – arrangements can be made to fit around you and full training and guidance will be given.

Take a look at our projects and think about which you would most like to help with.
