V21 Woodwork @ Heath

V21 Woodwork @ Heath project is the larger of our woodwork projects. There trainees get stuck into woodworking, learning the basics of carpentry and joinery while working on a variety of projects. They help refurbish items, take part in one-off commissions, or get involved in creating a catalogue of pieces. With guidance from Nick, Lee, and Tom, trainees gain knowledge in a range of woodworking skills and get confident using a variety of hand and power tools.
The project has a lively, social atmosphere, and at break times trainees can head to the break room, which has a pool table and games station, making it not only a great place to learn new skills but also a fun spot to hang out, make friends, and enjoy some friendly competition.

Trainees have the chance to learn skills such as:
- Assisting with machining.
- Cutting wood to size.
- Purchasing materials.
- Delivering final products to customers.
- Drilling, fixing and assembling.
- Identifying different types of wood.
- Identifying woodworking tools and equipment.
- Preparing and finishing wood.
- Use of hand and power tools.
When?
Trainees attend the V21 Woodwork @ Heath project Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
